The Home of Kirk Johnson & Custio Clayton
City of Lakes Boxing Club is the oldest continuous boxing club in Dartmouth and the Maritimes. All of our coaches are certified boxing coaches by Boxing Canada as well as health checked and criminal checked. We train fighters and athletes at every level, amateurs to pros. We actively support the youth in our communities on their path to excellence.
We have kids boxing, adult classes and individual coaching. Our Dartmouth boxing club has a relaxed, bully-free environment that exemplifies values such as hard work and respect.
Gary Johnson, the current head coach, along with assistant coaches, Floyd Donovan and Gerard Birrette (as well as past coaches) have trained countless provincial champions, several national champions, olympic champions, and world titled contenders. Read more about the coaches, as well as the club’s president, Gregg Keating.
Notable boxers that train and have trained at the City of Lakes Boxing include Kirk Johnson, Custio Clayton, Artie Cousins, and Brett Beaton. Read more about our Dartmouth Boxing Club fighters.
Founded in 1971 by Len Shaw, the club has a long history of helping create great athletes and fighters. Read more about the City of Lakes Boxing Club’s history.
